The Scorpions Wine Combined Spoilage Panel is designed to provide detection of spoilage microbes commonly associated with the wine production process. The presence of these microbes, at different stages of the winemaking process, can and often does result in a negative impact on the wine. Early detection enables winemaker intervention to prevent problems before the wine is spoiled.
When using Scorpions to determine the effectiveness of chitosan (No Brett Inside) or Velcorin treatments, we recommend following the guidelines published by Scott Laboratories: clients should wait 20-30 days post treatment before conducting Scorpion analysis.
